✧ Prayer before the imam comes out and after the khutbah

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، قَدْ سَمَّاهُ قَالَ:
خَرَجْنَا مَعَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ إِلَى الْجَبَّانَةِ فَرَأَى نَاسًا يُصَلُّونَ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْإِمَامِ، فَقَالَ كَالْمُتَعَجِّبِ: " أَلَا تَرَوْنَ هَؤُلَاءِ يُصَلُّونَ ؟ " فَقُلْنَا: أَلَا تَنْهَاهُمْ ؟ فَقَالَ: " أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أَكُونَ كَالَّذِي يَنْهَى عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّى " قَالَ: ثُمَّ بَدَأَ بِالصَّلَاةِ قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ قَبْلَهَا وَلَا بَعْدَهَا
Translation
✧ We went out with Ali b. Abi Talib on the day of Eid to the prayer ground. He saw people praying before the imam's prayer and said in wonder: 'Do you not see these people praying?' We said: 'Will you not forbid them?' He said: 'I dislike being like the one who forbids a servant when he prays.' Then he began the prayer before the khutbah, and he did not pray before it or after it.
