أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ،
أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، كَتَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْمِيَاهِ بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ أَنْ تُجَمِّعُوا، فَقَالَ عَطَاءٌ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ: فَقَدْ بَلَغَنَا أَنْ لَا جُمُعَةَ إِلَّا فِي مِصْرٍ جَامِعٍ
Translation
✧ 'Umar b. 'Abd al-'Aziz wrote to the people of the watering places between Makkah and al-Madinah to hold the Jumu'ah. 'Ata' said at that: It has reached us that there is no Jumu'ah except in a large town where [Friday] prayer is held in congregation.
