عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: مَا الْقَرْيَةُ الْجَامِعَةُ ؟ قَالَ: ذَاتُ الْجَمَاعَةِ، وَالْأَمِيرِ، وَالْقِصَاصِ، وَالدُّورِ الْمُجْتَمِعَةِ غَيْرِ الْمُفْتَرِقَةِ، الْآخِذِ بَعْضُهَا بِبَعْضٍ كَهَيْئَةِ جُدَّةَ قَالَ: وَالْقِصَاصُ قَالَ: فَجُدَّةُ جَامِعَةٌ وَالطَّائِفُ قَالَ: وَإِذَا كُنْتَ فِي قَرْيَةٍ جَامِعَةٍ فَنُودِيَ لِلصَّلَاةِ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ، فَحُقَّ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ تَشْهَدَهَا إِنْ سَمِعْتَ الْأَذَانَ أَوْ لَمْ تَسْمَعْهُ
Translation
✧ I said to 'Ata': What is a comprehensive village? He said: One with a congregation, a governor, qisas, and dwellings that are clustered together, not separated, adjoining one another, like the situation of Jeddah. He said: And qisas. He said: So Jeddah is comprehensive, and al-Ta'if. He said: And if you are in a comprehensive village and the call to prayer is made on Friday, then it is incumbent upon you to attend it, whether you hear the adhan or not.
