عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى
أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ، كَانَ يَدْعُو النَّاسَ إِلَى شُهُودِ الْجُمُعَةِ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِدِمَشْقَ، فَيَقُولُ: " اشْهَدُوا الْجُمُعَةَ يَا أَهْلَ كَذَا، يَا أَهْلَ كَذَا، حَتَّى يَدْعُوَ أَهْلَ مَاتِرِينَ وَأَهْلَ فَائِنَ حِينَئِذٍ مِنْ دِمَشْقَ عَلَى أَرْبَعَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ مِيلًا، فَيَقُولُ: " اشْهَدُوا يَا أَهْلَ فَايِزَ
Translation
✧ Muawiya used to call the people to attend Jumu'ah from the minbar in Damascus, saying: 'Attend Jumu'ah, O people of such-and-such, O people of such-and-such,' until he called the people of Matirin and the people of Fa'in, which is at that time from Damascus at twenty-four miles, and he would say: 'Attend, O people of Fa'iz.'
