عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَيْضًا، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، عَنْ حَوْشَبٍ الطَّائِيِّ قَالَ:
مَا أَسَاءَتْ أُمَّةٌ أَعْمَالَهَا إِلَّا زَخْرَفَتْ مَسَاجِدَهَا، وَمَا هَلَكَتْ أُمَّةٌ قَطُّ إِلَّا مِنْ قِبَلِ عُلَمَائِهَا
Translation
✧ No nation ever did evil in its deeds except that it decorated its mosques, and no nation ever perished except because of its scholars.
