Translation
✧ Shall I not give you a gift? Shall I not grant you something? Shall I not bestow upon you? Shall I not prefer you? Shall I not? Shall I not? - until I thought he would cut off for me the water of the two seas (i.e., grant me great wealth). He said: You pray four rak'ahs, reciting the Mother of the Qur'an (al-Fatihah) in each rak'ah along with a surah. Then you say: 'All praise is due to Allah, Glory be to Allah, Allah is the Greatest, there is no god but Allah,' counting it as one, until you have counted it fifteen times. Then you bow and say it ten times while bowing. Then you rise and say it ten times while standing. Then you prostrate and say it ten times while prostrating. Then you rise and say it ten times while sitting. Then you prostrate and say it ten times while prostrating. Then you rise and say it ten times while sitting. That makes seventy-five, and in the last three (rak'ahs) likewise. So the total is three hundred when combined, and when you separate them it is one thousand two hundred. He used to prefer to recite a surah after the Mother of the Qur'an of twenty verses or more. You may perform them in your day, your night, your week, your month, your year, or your lifetime. If your sins were as numerous as the stars of the sky, or the drops of rain, or the sand of 'Alij, or the days of eternity, Allah would forgive you.
