✧ The virtue of voluntary prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِثَوْبَانَ: حَدِّثْنِي بِحَدِيثٍ لَعَلَّ اللهَ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنِي بِهِ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لَهُ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:
مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً
Translation
✧ There is no servant who prostrates to God a single prostration except that God raises him by it a degree and removes from him by it a sin.
