✧ Voluntary prayer before and after the obligatory prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ:

كَانُوا يَسْتَحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَرْكَعُوا بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ بِـ ﴿قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ ﴾وَ ﴿قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ ﴾، وَبَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ بِآخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ ﴿آمَنَ الرَّسُولُ ﴾وَبِـ ﴿قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ ﴾وَقَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ بِـ ﴿قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ ﴾وَ ﴿قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ ﴾.

Translation

✧ They used to prefer to pray after Maghrib with “Say: O disbelievers” and “Say: He is Allah, the One,” and after Isha in two rak’ahs with the last part of Surat al-Baqarah “The Messenger believes” and with “Say: He is Allah, the One,” and before Fajr with “Say: O disbelievers” and “Say: He is Allah, the One.”
