✧ Voluntary prayer before and after the obligatory prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ
أَنَّهُ رَأَى قَوْمًا يُصَلُّونَ بَعْدَمَا طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ، فَقَالَ: " لَوْ أَدْرَكَ هَؤُلَاءِ السَّلَفَ الْأُوَلَ عَلِمُوا أَنَّ غَيْرَ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا، صَلَاةُ الْأَوَّابِينَ إِذَا رَمِضَتِ الْفِصَالُ
Translation
✧ He saw some people praying after the sun had risen, and he said: 'If these people had caught the early predecessors, they would have learned that a prayer other than this one is better than it: the prayer of the oft-returning penitents when the young camels feel the heat of the sun.'
