عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ:
لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يُوقَظُونَ لِلصَّلَاةِ، وَإِنِّي لَأَسْمَعُ لِبَعْضِهِمْ غَطِيطًا - يَعْنِي وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ - فَمَا يَتَوَضَّئُونَ. قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ: فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ الزُّهْرِيَّ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدَهُ: أَوْ خَطِيطًا، قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ: لَا، قَدْ أَصَابَ غَطِيطًا
Translation
✧ I saw the companions of the Messenger of God ﷺ being awakened for prayer, and I would hear the snoring of some of them—meaning while sitting—yet they did not perform wudu. Ma'mar said: I narrated this to al-Zuhri, and a man with him said: "Or khafīf (light)?" Al-Zuhri said: "No, he got it right: ghaṭīṭ (snoring)."
