عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:

خَرَجَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ عَلَى قَوْمٍ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ فَنَهَاهُمْ عَنِ الْحَدِيثِ وَقَالَ: " إِنَّمَا جِئْتُمْ لِلصَّلَاةِ إِمَّا أَنْ تُصَلُّوا، وَإِمَّا أَنْ تَسْكُتُوا

Translation

✧ Ibn Mas'ud came out upon a people who were conversing and forbade them from talking, saying: "You have only come for prayer; either pray, or be silent."
