Translation
✧ Abu Ayyub al-Ansari used to pray two rak'ahs after 'Asr before Umar became caliph. When Umar became caliph, he abandoned them. When he died, he resumed praying them. It was said to him, 'What is this?' He said, 'Umar used to beat people for them.'
