✧ A man entering while the imam is bowing, how many takbirs he says

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ،
أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ، وَابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَا يُفْتِيَانِ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا انْتَهَى إِلَى الْقَوْمِ وَهُمْ رُكُوعٌ أَنْ يُكَبِّرَ تَكْبِيرَةً، وَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الرَّكْعَةَ، قَالَا: " وَإِنْ وَجَدَهُمْ سُجُودًا سَجَدَ مَعَهُمْ وَلَمْ يَعْتَدَّ بِذَلِكَ
Translation
✧ Zayd b. Thabit and Ibn 'Umar used to give the legal opinion that when a man reaches people while they are bowing, he should say one takbir, and he has caught the rak'ah. They said: "And if he finds them prostrating, he prostrates with them but does not count that."
