✧ Wiping the Ears

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ
كَانَ يَغْسِلُ ظُهُورَ أُذُنَيْهِ وَبُطُونَهُمَا إِلَّا الصِّمَاخَ مَعَ الْوَجْهِ مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ، وَيُدْخِلُ بِإِصْبَعَيْهِ بَعْدَمَا يَمْسَحُ بِرَأْسِهِ فِي الْمَاءِ، ثُمَّ يُدْخِلُهُمَا فِي الصِّمَاخِ مَرَّةً، وَقَالَ: فَرَأَيْتُهُ وَهُوَ يَمُوتُ تَوَضَّأَ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ إِصْبَعَيْهِ فِي الْمَاءِ فَجَعَلَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهُمَا فِي صِمَاخِهِ فَلَا يَهْتَدِيَانِ وَلَا يَنْتَهِي، حَتَّى أَدْخَلْتُ أَنَا إِصْبَعِي فِي الْمَاءِ فَأَدْخَلْتُهُمَا فِي صِمَاخِهِ
Translation
✧ He used to wash the backs of his ears and their inner sides, except the ear canal, along with the face once or twice. And he would insert his two fingers, after wiping his head, into the water, then insert them into the ear canal once. He said: I saw him when he was dying; he performed ablution, then inserted his two fingers into the water and tried to insert them into his ear canal, but they would not go in or reach it, until I inserted my finger into the water and then inserted them into his ear canal.
