عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أُخْبِرْتُ عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ غَيْلَانَ الثَّقَفِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ:
يَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ لَا تُغْلَبُنَّ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلَاتِكُمْ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ سَمَّاهَا الْعِشَاءَ، وَإِنَّمَا سَمَّاهَا الْأَعْرَابُ الْعَتَمَةَ، مِنْ أَجْلِ إِعْتَامِ حَلْبِ إِبِلِهِمْ
Translation
✧ O 'Abd al-Rahman, do not be overcome regarding the name of your prayer, for Allah has named it al-'isha', and the Bedouins only call it al-'atamah because of the lateness of milking their camels.
