أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:
مَنْ فَارَقَ الْجَمَاعَةَ، وَخَرَجَ مِنَ الطَّاعَةِ فَمَاتَ فَمِيتَتُهُ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ، وَمَنْ خَرَجَ عَلَى أُمَّتِي بِسَيْفِهِ فَيَضْرِبُ بَرَّهَا وَفَاجِرَهَا لَا يَتَحَاشَى مُؤْمِنًا لِإِيمَانِهِ، وَلَا يَفِي لِذِي عَهْدٍ بِعَهْدِهِ، فَلَيْسَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي، وَمَنْ قُتِلَ تَحْتَ رَايَةٍ عِمِّيَّةٍ يَغْضَبُ لِلْعَصَبِيَّةِ، أَوْ يُقَاتِلُ لِلْعَصَبِيَّةِ، أَوْ يَدْعُو إِلَى الْعَصَبِيَّةِ، فَقِتْلَتُهُ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ

And whoever rises against my Ummah with his sword, striking the righteous and the wicked among them, sparing no believer because of his faith, and not fulfilling the covenant of one who has a covenant, he is not from my Ummah. And whoever is killed under a blind banner, becoming angry for the sake of tribalism, or fighting for the sake of tribalism, or calling to tribalism, his killing is a killing of jāhiliyyah.
