أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ:
كَانَ مُطَرِّفُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ، وَصَاحِبٌ لَهُ سَرَيَا فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُظْلِمَةٍ، فَإِذَا طَرْفُ سَوْطِ أَحَدِهِمَا عِنْدَهُ ضَوْءٌ، فَقَالَ لِصَاحِبِهِ: أَمَا إِنَّا لَوْ حَدَّثْنَا النَّاسَ بِهَذَا كَذَّبُونَا فَقَالَ مُطَرِّفٌ: الْمُكَذِّبُ أَكْذَبُ " يَقُولُ: الْمُكَذِّبُ بِنِعْمَةِ اللهِ أَكْذَبُ.
