✧ What to say when hearing the adhan and remaining silent for it

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ
كَانَ إِذَا سَمِعَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ يُؤَذِّنُ قَالَ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ قَالَ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَإِذَا قَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ قَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَإِذَا قَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ، قَالَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، وَإِذَا قَالَ: حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ: لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ
Translation
✧ When he heard the muezzin giving the adhan, he would say: "God is most great," and he said: "God is most great." When he said: "I bear witness that there is no god but God," he said: "I bear witness that there is no god but God." When he said: "I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God," he said the like of that. When he said: "Come to prayer," he said: "There is no might and no power except with God, the Most High, the Most Great."
