The Messenger of God ﷺ never struck a servant of his, nor a woman, and he never struck anything with his hand, except when striking in jihad in the cause of God. And he was never given a choice between two matters except that the dearer of them to him was the easier of the two, so long as it was not a sin; and if it was a sin, he was the furthest of people from the sin. And he never took revenge for himself for anything done to him, until the sanctity of God was violated, and then he would take revenge for the sake of God.
