✧ Idle talk, raising the voice, and reciting poetry in the mosque

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:

قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: الصِّيَاحُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَ: إِمَّا قَوْلٌ لَيْسَ فِيهِ بَأْسٌ، وَإِمَّا قَوْلُ فُحْشٍ أَوْ سَبٍّ فَلَا

Translation

✧ I said to Ata': "What about shouting in the mosque?" He said: "As for talk that has no harm in it, it is fine; but as for obscene speech or insults, then no."
