✧ Does He Perform Ablution for Every Prayer or Not?

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ صَاحِبٍ لَهُ، عَنْ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ،
أَنَّ الْمِسْوَرَ بْنَ مَخْرَمَةَ قَالَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: هَلْ لَكَ بَحْرٌ فِي عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، إِذَا سَمِعَ النِّدَاءَ خَرَجَ فَتَوَضَّأَ، قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: هَكَذَا يَصْنَعُ الشَّيْطَانُ، إِذَا جَاءَ فَآذِنُونِي فَلَمَّا جَاءَ أَخْبَرُوهُ فَقَالَ: مَا يَحْمِلُكَ عَلَى مَا تَصْنَعُ ؟ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ اللهَ يَقُولُ: ﴿إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلاةِ فَاغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ ﴾فَتَلَا الْآيَةَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: لَيْسَ هَكَذَا إِذَا تَوَضَّأْتَ فَأَنْتَ طَاهِرٌ مَا لَمْ تُحْدِثْ
Translation
✧ Al-Miswar b. Makhrama said to Ibn Abbas: Do you have any dispute with Ubayd b. Umayr? When he hears the call to prayer, he goes out and performs ablution. Ibn Abbas said: This is what Satan does. When he comes, inform me. So when he came, they informed him, and he said: What makes you do what you do? He said: God says: {When you rise to prayer, wash your faces}, and he recited the verse. Ibn Abbas said: It is not like that. When you perform ablution, you are pure as long as you do not invalidate it.
