عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
مَرَّ الزُّبَيْرُ بِمَوَالٍ لِرَافِعٍ فَأَعْجَبُوهُ فَقَالَ: " لِمَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ ؟ " قَالُوا: مَوَالٍ لِرَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ: " وَمِنْ أَيْنَ ؟ " قِيلَ: أُمُّهُمْ مَوْلَاةٌ لِرَافِعٍ وَأَبُوهُمْ عَبْدٌ لِفُلَانٍ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ، فَاشْتَرَى الزُّبَيْرُ أَبَاهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ: " أَنْتُمْ مَوَالِيَّ " فَاخْتَصَمَ الزُّبَيْرُ وَرَافِعٌ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ، فَقَضَى بِوَلَائِهِمْ لِلزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ هِشَامٌ: فَلَمَّا كَانَ مُعَاوِيَةُ خَاصَمُوهُ فِيهِمْ أَيْضًا فَقَضَى لَنَا فِيهِمْ مُعَاوِيَةُ فَقَالَ: " فَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا مَوَالٍ حَتَّى الْيَوْمِ
