عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو رَافِعٍ قَالَ:
قَالَتْ لِي مَوْلَاتِي لَيْلَى ابْنَةُ الْعَجْمَاءِ: كُلُّ مَمْلُوكٍ لَهَا حُرٌّ وَكُلُّ مَالٍ لَهَا هَدْيٌ، وَهِيَ يَهُودِيَّةٌ وَنَصْرَانِيَّةٌ إِنْ لَمْ تُطَلِّقْ زَوْجَتَكَ - أَوْ تُفَرِّقْ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ امْرَأَتِكَ - قَالَ: فَأَتَيْتُ زَيْنَبَ ابْنَةَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، وَكَانَتْ إِذَا ذُكِرَتِ امْرَأَةٌ بِفِقْهٍ ذُكِرَتْ زَيْنَبُ، قَالَ: فَجَاءَتْ مَعِي إِلَيْهَا، فَقَالَتْ: " أَفِي الْبَيْتِ هَارُوتُ، وَمَارُوتُ ؟ " فَقَالَتْ: يَا زَيْنَبُ، جَعَلَنِي اللهُ فِدَاكِ، إِنَّهَا قَالَتْ: كُلُّ مَمْلُوكٍ لَهَا حُرٌّ وَهِيَ يَهُودِيَّةٌ وَنَصْرَانِيَّةٌ، فَقَالَتْ: " يَهُودِيَّةٌ وَنَصْرَانِيَّةٌ ؟ خَلِّي بَيْنَ الرَّجُلِ وَامْرَأَتِهِ " قَالَ: فَكَأَنَّهَا لَمْ تَقْبَلْ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: فَأَتَيْتُ حَفْصَةَ فَأَرْسَلَتْ مَعِي إِلَيْهَا، فَقَالَتْ: يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ جَعَلَنِي اللهُ فِدَاكِ، إِنَّهَا قَالَتْ: كُلُّ مَمْلُوكٍ لَهَا حُرٌّ، وَكُلُّ مَالٍ لَهَا هَدْيٌ، وَهِيَ يَهُودِيَّةٌ وَنَصْرَانِيَّةٌ، قَالَ: فَقَالَتْ حَفْصَةُ: يَهُودِيَّةٌ وَنَصْرَانِيَّةٌ ؟ خَلِّي بَيْنَ الرَّجُلِ وَامْرَأَتِهِ. فَكَأَنَّهَا أَبَتْ "، فَأَتَيْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ فَانْطَلَقَ مَعِي إِلَيْهَا، فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ عَرَفَتْ صَوْتَهُ، فَقَالَتْ: بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَبِآبَائِي أَبُوكَ، فَقَالَ: " أَمِنْ حِجَارَةٍ أَنْتِ، أَمْ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ، أَمْ مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ أَنْتِ ؟ أَفْتَتْكِ زَيْنَبُ، وَأَفْتَتْكِ أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، فَلَمْ تَقْبَلِي مِنْهُمَا "، قَالَتْ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، جَعَلَنِي اللهُ فِدَاكَ، إِنَّهَا قَالَتْ: كُلُّ مَمْلُوكٍ لَهَا حُرٌّ، وَكُلُّ مَالٍ لَهَا هَدْيٌ، وَهِيَ يَهُودِيَّةٌ وَنَصْرَانِيَّةٌ، قَالَ: يَهُودِيَّةٌ وَنَصْرَانِيَّةٌ ؟ كَفِّرِي عَنْ يَمِينِكِ، وَخَلِّي بَيْنَ الرَّجُلِ وَامْرَأَتِهِ

He said: So I went to Ḥafṣah, and she sent someone with me to her, and she said: O Mother of the Believers, may God make me your ransom, she said: Every slave she owns is free, and all her wealth is a sacrificial offering, and she is a Jew and a Christian. He said: Ḥafṣah said: "A Jew and a Christian? Leave the man and his wife alone." But it seemed she refused. So I went to ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar, and he went with me to her. When he greeted her with salām, she recognized his voice and said: "May my father be your ransom, and my fathers your father's." He said: "Are you made of stone, or of iron, or of what are you made? Zaynab gave you a ruling, and the Mother of the Believers gave you a ruling, and you did not accept it from them." She said: O Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, may God make me your ransom, she said: Every slave she owns is free, and all her wealth is a sacrificial offering, and she is a Jew and a Christian. He said: A Jew and a Christian? Make expiation for your oath, and leave the man and his wife alone.
