أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ:
أَعْتَقَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ كُلَّ مُسْلِمٍ مِنْ رَقِيقِ الْمَالِ، وَشَرَطَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنَّكُمْ تَخْدِمُونَ الْخَلِيفَةَ بَعْدِي ثَلَاثَ سِنِينَ، وَأَنَّهُ يَصْحَبُكُمْ بِمِثْلِ مَا كُنْتُ أَصْحَبُكُمْ بِهِ، فَابْتَاعَ الْخِيَارُ خِدْمَتَهُ مِنْهُ - أَيْ عُثْمَانَ - الثَّلَاثَ سِنِينَ بِغُلَامِهِ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ
