✧ How Much of the Ablution Is a Single Pour

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى الْمَازِنِيِّ،
أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ: هَلْ تَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ تُرِيَنِي كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَدَعَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ بِوَضُوءٍ فَأَفْرَغَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ فَغَسَلَهُمَا مَرَّتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ مَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْثَرَ ثَلَاثًا، وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ بِيَدَيْهِ فَأَقْبَلَ بِهِمَا وَأَدْبَرَ بَدَأَ بِمُقَدَّمِ رَأْسِهِ، ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ بِهِمَا إِلَى قَفَاهُ، ثُمَّ رَدَّهُمَا حَتَّى رَجَعَ إِلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي بَدَأَ مِنْهُ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ
Translation
✧ A man said to Abd Allah b. Zayd, who was one of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ: Can you show me how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution? He said: Yes. So Abd Allah b. Zayd called for water for ablution and poured it over his hands and washed them twice, then rinsed his mouth and snuffed water into his nose and blew it out three times, and washed his face three times, then washed his hands up to the elbows twice, then wiped his head with his hands, bringing them forward and back; he began with the front of his head, then took them to the back of his neck, then returned them until he came back to the place where he began, then washed his feet.
