✧ Making up prayers by the menstruating woman
1290 1278 - عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ مِثْلَهُ متن مخفيسَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْتُ مَا بَالُ الْحَائِضِ تَقْضِي الصَّوْمَ وَلَا تَقْضِي الصَّلَاةَ فَقَالَتْ أَحَرُورِيَّةٌ أَنْتِ قُلْتُ لَسْتُ بِحَرُورِيَّةٍ وَلَكِنِّي أَسْأَلُ قَالَتْ قَدْ كَانَ يُصِيبُنَا ذَلِكَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَنُؤْمَرُ بِقَضَاءِ الصَّوْمِ وَلَا نُؤْمَرُ بِقَضَاءِ الصَّلَاةِ
Translation
✧ I asked ʿĀʾishah: What is the matter with the menstruating woman that she makes up the fast but does not make up the prayer? She said: Are you a Ḥarūriyyah? I said: I am not a Ḥarūriyyah, but I ask. She said: That used to happen to us with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and we were commanded to make up the fast but were not commanded to make up the prayer.
