✧ Consulting women about their marriages

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

الثَّيِّبُ مَالِكَةٌ لِأَمْرِهَا، وَتُسْتَأْمَرُ الْبِكْرُ فِي نَفْسِهَا، فَسُكُوتُهَا إِقْرَارُهَا

Translation

✧ The previously married woman is in control of her own affair, and the virgin is consulted concerning herself; her silence is her assent.
