✧ How the People of the Book are made to swear

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ:
كَانَ يُحَلِّفُهُمْ بِاللهِ، وَكَانَ يَقُولُ: " أَنْزَلَ اللهُ: ﴿وَأَنِ احْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَا أَنْـزَلَ اللهُ ﴾
Translation

machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq informed us, he said: al-Thawrī informed us, from Jābir, from al-Shaʿbī, from Masrūq, who said:
✧ He used to make them swear by Allah, and he used to say: 'Allah sent down: "And judge between them by what Allah has sent down."'
