أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ:
مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ الْأَرْضَ كُلَّهَا لِي جِزْيَةٌ بِخَمْسَةِ دَرَاهِمَ؛ أُقِرُّ عَلَى نَفْسِي بِالصَّغَارِ.
Translation
✧ I would not like all the land to be mine as jizya for five dirhams, acknowledging humiliation upon myself.
