أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ،
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً يَهُودِيَّةً أَهْدَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ شَاةً مَصْلِيَّةً بِخَيْبَرَ، فَقَالَ لَهَا: " مَا هَذِهِ ؟ " قَالَتْ: هَدِيَّةٌ. وَتَحَذَّرَتْ أَنْ تَقُولَ: مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ، فَلَا يَأْكُلُهَا. فَأَكَلَهَا وَأَكَلَ أَصْحَابُهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ: " أَمْسِكُوا ". فَقَالَ لِلْمَرْأَةِ: هَلْ سَمَمْتِ هَذِهِ الشَّاةَ ؟ قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، قَالَتْ: مَنْ أَخْبَرَكَ ؟ قَالَ: " هَذَا الْعَظْمُ "، لِسَاقِهَا وَهُوَ فِي يَدِهِ. قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: " لِمَ ؟ " قَالَتْ: أَرَدْتُ إِنْ تَكُنْ كَاذِبًا يَسْتَرِيحُ النَّاسُ مِنْكَ، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ نَبِيًّا لَمْ يَضْرُرْكَ. قَالَ: وَاحْتَجَمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى الْكَاهِلِ، وَأَمَرَ أَنْ يَحْتَجِمُوا، فَمَاتَ بَعْضُهُمْ. قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ: وَأَسْلَمَتْ فَتَرَكَهَا. قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ: وَأَمَّا النَّاسُ فَيَذْكُرُونَ أَنَّهُ قَتَلَهَا
Translation
✧ A Jewish woman gifted the Prophet ﷺ a roasted sheep at Khaybar. He said to her: "What is this?" She said: "A gift." She was cautious not to say "from charity," lest he not eat it. He ate it and his companions ate. Then he said to them: "Hold back." He said to the woman: "Did you poison this sheep?" She said: "Yes." She said: "Who informed you?" He said: "This bone," referring to its leg bone, which was in his hand. She said: "Yes." He said: "Why?" She said: "I intended that if you are a liar, the people would be rid of you, and if you are a prophet, it would not harm you." He said: The Prophet ﷺ had cupping done on the shoulder, and he ordered them to have cupping done, and some of them died. Al-Zuhri said: She accepted Islam, so he left her alone. Ma'mar said: As for the people, they mention that he killed her.
